Had a busy week, Thanks to a good friend, I've managed to get to taste this kicap ... couldn't wait to taste it ... Here goes ....
@elementsofislay - Elements of Islay Peat & Sherry Malaysia Exclusive - ABV56.4%, Bottled 2021.

Nose: Airing it for a while, Seems like a powering sherry sweetness, very quickly the soothing peat that comes together is nice, after that there's a follow-up of higher ABV, in between, there's a whiff of smoke.
Palate: Totally didn't expect the palate, the soothing smell gave a punch of ashy with some ABV bloom, followed by a tinge of bitterness behind. Another gulp gave me a mix of flavours on the palate, bitterness still follows shortly.
Finish: medium-long with bitterness coating it feels to me like biting a roasted coffee bean you get the burnt roast smell with the bitter cocoa, after a while, there's an ashy lingering in your mouth.
With a few drops of water - easier to drink
Nose: sherry mellowed down a bit, you still get a combination of everything you may need in Peat and Sherry
Palate: ABV mellowed as well, making it very easy to drink
Finish: nice light ashy, bitterness became very light, nearly unnoticeable

This particular Malaysia exclusive bottling has been matured in a single sherry hogshead. This marriage of single malts combines the heavy smoky style of Islay with the richness of sherry cask maturation. This is a limited edition of 420 bottles.
